The NHS is currently under extreme pressure due to a reduction in funding and hospital backlogs. To keep patients safe, when there are no more appointments at the surgery, our Receptionists will help direct you to other available NHS services. This may include NHS 111, walk-in centres or joining the waiting list for a routine appointment. If you are unsure if your problem is urgent, please contact us and our Reception team can assist you.

đĸ Total Triage System
We are fully operating using Total Triage as our standard way to manage appointments with GPs ANPs and dealing with patient queries. This ensures you get the right help, from the right person, as quickly and efficiently as possible.
â How it works
All requests — whether for an appointment, clinical advice, administrative help, or repeat prescriptions — are reviewed first so we can direct you appropriately.

- Book in person at Reception
- Book Online using the NHS app
These are the methods we use for you to seek medical advice. No other routes may be used for this and if other routes are used such as emails or letters, you will be advised to contact us using these 3 available routes.
Please note, primary care is not an emergency service or an urgent care facility. If your need is deemed to be urgent and there are no same day appointments available, reception are trained to signpost you to urgent care.
Locally the providers are:
- Spalding Urgent Treatment Centr
- Pilgrim Hospital A&E, Peterborough A&E
- 111 option 2 for acute mental health problems
111 for medical problems is only a triage system and is not a recognised route to obtaining a GP appointment.
Please note that all calls to the practice are recorded to ensure safety and quality and may be used for training purposes.
We do not operate a “sit and wait to be seen” system; the surgery is not a walk-in centre.
We operate dedicated clinics for blood tests only. These appointments last 5 minutes and are carried out by our trained Healthcare Assistants and qualified clinical staff.
â Please note:
• Arrive on time – late arrival may mean your appointment has to be rebooked.
• If your blood test has been requested by a hospital, you must bring the hospital request form with you. Without this form, we will be unable to take your sample, and your appointment will need to be rearranged.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Evening and weekend GP appointments are available at Littlebury Medic al centre and at other practices in the Primary Care Network area.
You can see a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, or other healthcare professional based on the nature of your problem.
This service is known as “Enhanced Access”. There are a group of GP practices that work together to offer local services, your appointment may not be at the Deepings Practice, as there is more than one practice within the PCN that you can go to; these practices are Bourne Galletly, Abbeyview Crowland, Gosberton.
You will be told at the time of booking the appointment, which surgery you will be going to. The times for these appointments are normally between 18.30-20.00 Monday to Friday and between 8.00-17.00 on a Saturday. These appointments are all pre-booked.
The Healthcare Professional will have access to your medical records, so your full medical history will be known and can be updated.
Please note that this is NOT an emergency service.
When making your appointment you may find that the receptionist will ask you for a brief reason for your appointment.
This is so that your appointment is booked appropriately.
Some conditions or problems need longer than others and some conditions or problems are dealt with by specific clinicians.
This is particularly important when making an appointment to see the practice nurse, phlebotomist and nurse practitioner.
You can give personal as your appointment reason but please bear in mind that we ask for a reason to help you get the best care from your clinician.
All staff are bound by the confidentiality act, including receptionists.
Please let us know that you have arrived for your appointment otherwise the clinician will not know you are waiting.
You can use the self check-in screens to arrive yourself for your appointment at the surgery.
If you experience any problems checking yourself in upon arrival, then please let the Receptionist know.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
You can cancel your appointment online or by calling us on 01406 422231
